GEN 3, GEN 4, LS6, LS1, EVAP, SPACERS.... WHAT ARE ALL THESE OPTIONS!? THIS IS A LOT OF THE QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED ON A DAILY BASIS. SO WE DESIGNED THIS PAGE TO TRY AND HELP! GEN 3 INTAKES-
HERE IS A COMMON GEN 3 ENGINE WITH A TRUCK STYLE INTAKE. THESE ENGINES CAME IN TRUCKS, SUVS AND VANS FROM 99-08 IN A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT SIZES, 4.8, 5.3 AND 6.0. THE SIZE AND YEAR DOESNT REALLY MATTER AS FAR AS THE INTAKE GOES, AS LONG AS IT LOOKS LIKE THE PICTURES ABOVE WITH OR WITHOUT THE INTAKE COVER ON.
NEXT IS DECIDING WEATHER OR NOT YOU HAVE AN EVAP PURGE SOLENOID AND DO YOU NEED IT OR NOT?
The evap system installed from the factory to reduce the evaporative emissions pollution that is produced by the fuel vapors released by the gasoline stored in the fuel tank. This is a key system in an OEM vehicle but in a LS SWAP it is rarely hooked back up. In the pictures below the OEM evap purge valve is circled in red. IF you choose not to use it we do offer a delete plug to eliminate it! The benefit to doing this on a Gen 3 intake set up with our cover is getting the cover to sit lower on the intake. IF in an evap solenoid is used you will need to purchase our threaded spacers in order to clear the intact emissions equipment.

GEN 4 INTAKES-
Here is the newer GEN 4 engine with a truck style intake. These engines came in trucks, suv and vans from 07-18 in a variety of different sizes 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 6.2. The size of the motor does not matter as long as the intake looks like the pictures above.
NOTE*** light duty 1500s came with GEN 5 (5.3 and 6.2) engines starting in 2014- current and our gen 4 intake covers do not fit
The evap is located on the drivers side of the intake, above the fuel and will clear the cover no problem. So no evap delete is needed.
TRAIL BLAZER SS and related SUV are well known in the LS engine community and we offer a cover for them too! The intake to firewall clearance is super tight and factory cover is even shorter than the rest of the OEM ls engine covers. We designed our covers to fit the same as factory with a shorter rear section and only 3 dimple die holes on the side. We also provide billet spacers to clear all the factory wiring and fuel rails on top of the intake.
TBSS intake swaps are very common because of their 90mm throttle body intake size and HP gains without loosing low end. When ordering a cover for a TBSS swap please specify what its going on/in so we can assure you get the correct longer cover if needed. The TBSS intake shares the same bolt pattern as a GEN 4 intake but needs different spacers to make it sit properly.
Car intakes are a very sleek and desired intake for a lot of guys, They are low profile and look great (better with our cover haha). They make car intakes to fit every LS gen from 99-current, no matter what heads you are running but you may need to some work to the front acessories to clear.
They also come on a ton of OEM engines, LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6 ECT.. since they do not have any threaded bosses on the top of the intake we had to get creative on how to attach them! While engineering the bracket we make it fit all the car intakes and its 100% bolt on!
